Build 477 pop-up bug

In Early Access Builds 415 and 477, the pop-up window does not appear, whether I hover the cursor over a word, click on the word or copy it.

However, Edit ... Preferences ... Scan Popup ... Send translated word to main windows ... works normally: the word appears correctly in the main window.

Small problem; great program!

How did you get the #477 version? Since the version on the Early Access page is still #409, I assume you either build GD yourself or used some of my builds?

Just in case, here's the very latest GoldenDict binary (freshly built from the latest Git repository), with all the latest localizations:

(Just extract the contents of the RAR file on top of your EARLY ACCESS version, replacing the files).

Ok, got it. It works for me though.

But hopefully we'll get the updated full EARLY ACCESS version soon, and the problem should be fixed/restored there for sure.

Incidentally, I've just noticed that I can't fully resize the main window of 477 horizontally. It works correctly vertically, but horizontally I can't make the main window any narrower than about 60% of the width of the screen.

I think this is intentional. It is done so that the Find panel could completely fit into the main window. Try to press Ctrl+F to see that panel:



Previously, one could resize the window to be smaller than the minimum width, but after restart the window would expand itself, which was wrong and confusing.

Further information about the pop-up bug.

1) I start the portable version of Build 477 on a different Windows 7 PC from my previous session. My first action is to uncheck the option "Send translated word to main window", then I click OK. I click the magic wand and hover over a word. GD crashes.

2) I restart GD, click the magic wand and hover over a word. GD crashes.

3) I restart GD, (re-)check the option "Send translated word to main window", and click OK. I click the magic wand and hover over a word. GD works normally.

Thanks, this is most likely some kind of mismatch between the goldendict.exe binary, built by me and the scan pop-up libraries build by Abs62, from the EARLY ACCESS version.

Let's wait for the new EA version, we just need to fix some History-related bugs and then be ready to release it. Meanwhile, I'll also try to see if I could adjust anything on my side to eliminate this mismatch problem.

Tried on a couple of PCs, couldn't reproduce so far. First, I unrar the early access version, then copy the #477 on top of it, enable Scan Pop-Up and no crashes (yet).

Do you have x64 or x32 version of Windows 7?
