Neither link seems to work anymore.
At any rate, I will try to compile an edition myself soon.
I have been working on an ePub/Kindle dictionary based on
Wiktionary and CIDE (Webster's 1913 Unabridged).
It's available at
http://personal.inet.fi/koti/korhoj/I'll try to convert it into StarDict format and upload
to my webpage. I'll let you know.
I have written a Java parser for the XML Wiktionary entries
although it's incomplete. It's better already though than the
short definitions which are produced by a certain Perl script.
For the latest Kindle edition I included also terms for
Anglo-Saxon, French, German, Middle-English and Old English
since they are handy while reading certain English books.
Kindle indexing takes rather long now. I think for
StarDict format I'll produce independent dictionaries
for each language.
Wiktionary is a bit weird when it comes to inflections.
It seems some French terms at least in the
English Wiktionary have each inflection as its
own entry. I think the Finnish terms use some
kind of a template. After all, Finnish nouns
have 15 declinations... ePub dictionaries support
inflection entries so that "words" brings up
"word". Although I only use them for the
CIDE dictionary now since Wiktionary has
the plurals as their own entries (which
I personally much dislike).
Cheers,
Joel
