These two modes work except that it takes forever when you have more than a dozen dictionaries enabled...

Other modes also will not work fast - dictionaries with china or japan articles language don't index for full-text search.

Actually both plain text and whole words are responsive enough in my case. No more than a couple minutes for 41 Chinese or bilingual dictionaries.

If dictionary is not recognized as Chinese or Japan, it will be indexed. But full-text search by index in such dictionary may not work correctly because all symbols between punctuation marks will be interpreted as one word.

Since the basic units of Chinese or Japanese are single characters, I wonder whether it is possible to index the dictionary by using single characters. Every Chinese or Japanese Character takes TWO bytes, while the English alphabet only takes ONE bytes.

Try: goldendict-1.5.0-RC-352-g055ae55(EXE only).7z - 1.21 MB - full-text search index for CJK-language dictionaries by separate characters.
All dictionaries (not only CJK) will be reindexed for full-text search.

Just tested the new build. Lightning fast for CJK full-text search after re-indexing! Really appreciate it. :D

Thanks so much. I really appreciate the gorgeous work you do!
BTW, I found a typo as in the attached screenshot.

RexExp should be RegExp?

Abs62,
I personally think that the following new thread by Oeasy provided some very useful information on the format of epwing dictionaries, which is, to some extent, the last popular dictionary format. It is noteworthy that epwing format is regulated by the JIS standards, so dictionaries with epwing format are usually of high quality. For details, please see:
