Goldendict can't recognize some dsl.dz files

Postby belleyeah » Sun Aug 18, 2013 6:42 am

Hi,
I have been using the compressed dsl.dz format for many dictionaries without any problem.
Recently, I notice that for many dsl files, if I compress them with dictzip, Goldendict can't index the dsl.dz file. (dsl file works, though).
I also notice that the file name inside dsl.dz has been changed to something weird. (see attached).
the dictzip version is the 'latest" 1.97.

any suggestion?

What OS do you use?

This sounds like a broken dictzip.
Can you uncompress such *.dz files back and compare original DSL and the one you've uncompressed?

thanks, Tvangeste,
I have tested on windows XP (32 bit) and Windows 7 (64 bit).
the dictzip is from:
http://sintegrial.com/dictui/get.php?fi ... win32_full
This should be a genuine verion and I only use the dictzip.exe.
strangely, the uncompress failed. :?:

belleyeah, I've compiled dictzip from the latest soulces myself and here's the test version for you to try: http://rghost.ru/48215015

Please try and let me know if that solves the problem for you or not. If everything is OK I'm going to release the binary for everybody's consumption.

The good thing about this particular binary is that there is no extra DLLs or dependencies, just a single exe file with everything inside, and it is fully optimized when built the latest Visual C++ compiler.

Here's the native win32 version of Dictzip, built by me, based on latest official version 1.12.1:
