[windows]popscan works with IE not with other browsers?

I am using the dev-branch (and portable, not through windows installer) goldendict version 1.0.1-239-gc81e6ca. I love the popscan under windows when I configure pressing ctrl + pointing the word to see the translation in a pop-up window. However this works only when I am browsing the web with IE and it seems no pop-up windows would be there when I use Google Chrome or Firefox. Is this a bug or I misconfigure something in goldendict?
Any ideas would be appreciated in advance.
