Can somebody convert this text file into a dictionary?

Postby farhad.gulemov » Tue Jan 04, 2011 11:24 pm

Hi,

I have tried all sorts of applications to create my own dictionary (under Ubuntu GNU/Linux) but nothing worked :(

I was wondering whether somebody could convert the attached text file into a GoldenDict compatible file format?

FYI - this is a dictionary of Russian military acronyms with their meanings.

I would really appreciate some help with this!

Thanks!

Farhad

Easily. Please find attached. All you need to do is to rename .txt to .dsl, and replace ' - ' (space, dash, space) with LF and TAB, plus add small header with the dictionary name.

Plus a bit more work, if you need the dictionary in perfect form:
1. improve headers (so that "хб, х/б" should be two headers "хб" and "х/б")
2. Replace [ and ] by \[ and \]

That's it.

It was hard. But I finally arrived to make a Babylon file. It works for me under Goldendict.
Cos I don’t speak Russian, I don’t know if there is something wrong or not in the file.
I think you can convert the bgl file to dsl or stardict file.
Good luck !

Dear friends,

Thanks A LOT for your help. Both versions work *great* :D :D

Thanks for the time and help, I really appreciate it!!

BTW - this is the most complete list of Russian military acronyms I could find, so hopefully these dictionaries will be useful to the rest of the GD community.

Thank you very much!
