Newbie here asking for help

I post here because I've realized that this is the place to find help. Here's my need and thank you in advance:

The full dictionary Beolingus can apparently been downloaded in text format, and also can anyone do the same with the dict.cc dictionary.

They can be found here:

They are both free to download and converted, and are subject to the following terms and conditions:

It would be good that both of these be converted to Goldendict desktop and Android formats, and place them here available for all of us.

Btw, did you know that you could also use the offline dictd dictionaries directly in GoldenDict? And that includes the Beolingus dictionary as well. The package for the dictionary is: dict-de-en.

So once the dict-de-en package is installed, add the following to the dictionary paths in GoldenDict (via F4 -> Sources -> Paths): /usr/share/opendict , and make sure the recursive checkbox is set.

I assume you refer to F3-> Sources -> Files which in my case it doesn't work since I use portable mode. In this mode the functionality to add files is grayed out. Any other hint?

Also, where can I find the package you mentioned, especially version 1.7 on your schreenshot? I only found version 1.5.

Even more, any way to convert this package to the Android format?

In the latest Ubuntu 13.04 I see the 1.7 version.

As for files, you could just copy them to your portable location with no problem. Or you could just copy them to the Android phone, it should work there (at least I see that dictd dictionaries are supported).

The dictionaries are here:

1. En-De:
/usr/share/opendict/dictionaries/plain/english-german.dict.dz/file/

2. De-En:
/usr/share/opendict/dictionaries/plain/german-english.dict.dz/file/

Me again.

I have just realized after making some tests, that the Beolingus database at http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/Local/urz ... -en-devel/ is very different from the one you provide above, so, I assume they come from totally different sources. I would prefer the one at the link I provide here in this post, as it is huge, and which is also the database used at the internet site http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de/. Will you check for yourself and see they are quite different?
