Updating glossaries

Postby Sergio Nova » Sun Apr 22, 2012 3:31 pm

I am a translator and I have some BGL glossaries that I make with some specific terms, and such BGLs are constantly updated.
The problem I have in GoldenDict is that I am unable to make it recognize the updated glossary (that is, it will continue working without the newest entries). I have to uninstall the glossary and then install it again.
The work is already ridiculous, but it becomes tragic if you consider that I have to include about twenty entries a day.
Does anyone know an intelligent way of updating the installed glossary?

Have you tried pressing Ctrl-F5 in GD after the dictionary was updated?

Pressing that, I receive a message: GoldenDict processing - Please wait.
Then, I go back to the search field, but the problem remains.

This means that the modification time of the dictionary file hasn't changed, and as such, the program can not detect that the file was actually changed.

I cannot understand.
Is there a solution or will I really have to reinstall everything again?

Usually, I have to uninstall everything and install again. Now the dictionaries will work updated, but I do feel I am stupid and there must be something more intelligent to be done even because I update some BGLs all the time. The suggestion you gave (ctrl+F5) shows that something is made in the program, but the fact is that the new entries remain hidden.
