Hi Berdy. Welcome to the forum!

I just added your Turkmen translation to GoldenDict. Although the translation was complete I noticed it was based on an old template file. When I run lupdate goldendict.pro to update the file it found 205 new untranslated texts. So, currently the translation is (762 - 205) / 762 = 73% done.
If you have time you can find the file to complete the translation in the Github repository: https://github.com/goldendict/goldendic ... e/tk_TM.ts
That would always be the link for the up-to-date file for release 1.5 of GoldenDict.

You can later attach the updated file here so we upload it to the repository.

Thanks for the contribution!

Chulai

Thank you. I updated the repo with your translation.
I noticed there are some text in English. It seems you copied the English source text to the translation field. Not sure if it was your intention. These are some (but there are other ones):

Hello again,

I had to add some new lines in the translation below to avoid the text to extend the window too much:

Code: Select all
<source>Each morphology dictionary appears as a
separate auxiliary dictionary which
provides stem words for searches and
spelling suggestions for mistyped words.
Add appropriate dictionaries to the bottoms
of the appropriate groups to use them.</source>
<translation>Her morfologiýa sözlügi aýry bir gosmaça sözlük
ýaly görkezilip gözleg üçin esasy sözleri
üpjün edýär we ýalnys ýazylan sözler üçin
dogrylary hödürleýär.
Laýyk gelýän sözlükleri degisli toparlaryn asagyna gosup ulan.</translation>

Then, I fixed the url in the "Welcome to GoldenDict!" page that links to "Working with popup" page.

Also, I found other untranslated texts. This time, I think these are all of them:

Code: Select all

When translating a text, please copy the new lines that appear in the "source" section text to the "translation" section text.

As before, you can get the latest version here: https://github.com/goldendict/goldendic ... e/tk_TM.ts
And you can see the changes I did here: https://github.com/goldendict/goldendic ... 0499452e2b

Well, this is what refers to GoldenDict own's texts. However, the program is built with the Qt Framework and this application framework provides a base translation file to be used by all software built with it in order to get the most generic texts translated from start. For example, the following texts can be found in the base qt_*.ts file: Cut, Copy, Paste, Select All, etc.

If you want to get full translation, you will have to provide this file with at least all the texts used by GoldenDict. Usually, all translation files can be found at ftp://ftp.qt-project.org/qt/l10n/index.html under "Qt 4.8" section. Level of completion varies among languages, though. Unfortunately, it seems there is no Turkmen translation (qt_tk.ts) available of Qt's own texts. For the languages that Qt developers/contributors don't provide a file, it's still possible to download an empty template file and do the translation oneself. The direct link to this template file is ftp://ftp.qt-project.org/qt/l10n/qt-sta ... nslated.ts

From my own experience, the only texts that need translation for GoldenDict are:
<source>Close Tab</source>
<source>&amp;Select All</source>
<source>&amp;Undo</source>
<source>&amp;Redo</source>
<source>Cu&amp;t</source>
<source>&amp;Copy</source>
<source>&amp;Paste</source>
<source>Delete</source>
<source>Select All</source>
<source>Clear</source>
<source>Close</source>
<source>Copy</source>
<source>Cut</source>
<source>&amp;OK</source>
<source>OK</source>
<source>&amp;Cancel</source>
<source>Cancel</source>
<source>Apply</source>
<source>Copy Image</source>

<source>Page Setup</source>
<source>Print Preview</source>
<source>Next page</source>
<source>Previous page</source>
<source>First page</source>
<source>Last page</source>
<source>Fit width</source>
<source>Fit page</source>
<source>Zoom in</source>
<source>Zoom out</source>
<source>Portrait</source>
<source>Landscape</source>
<source>Show single page</source>
<source>Show facing pages</source>
<source>Show overview of all pages</source>
<source>Print</source>
<source>Page setup</source>
<source>Close</source>
<source>Export to PDF</source>
<source>Export to PostScript</source>

Note: you might find more than 1 ocurrence of any of those texts.

Then, you just change the line:
<TS version="2.0">
to
<TS version="2.0" language="tk">
and you save the file as qt_tk.ts.

Finally, if you want I can add your name (or nickname) along with an email address to the credits in the
GoldenDict's About dialog. You can send me a Private Message with this info.

Regards,
Chulai

Hi Culai,
Of course, feel free to modify the text as you wish if it fits better localization.
Please find attached the file with missing translation.
Thanks for detailed instruction - very helpful, I will look to QT turkmen translation later.
I am sorry that I don't do it right the first time
(I am still a rookie in QT localizations but trying hard to learn :)
appreciate your assistance :D

Chulai, if possible, please put "PICTT Turkmenistan" as name to the credits in the GoldenDict's About dialog.
That is the project I am involved in. Thanks for the suggestion!
