Ask for dictzip.exe's usage, and a problem

Postby Keratoconus » Tue Sep 10, 2013 12:23 am

I found a dictzip for Windows build from @Tvangeste:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2366&p=10520&hilit=DictZip#p10520
https://github.com/Tvangeste/dictzip-win32/releases/
Cause I'm not a programmer, I found only a simple method: I just put *.dsl or *.dict file onto desk or somewhere else on hardpan.
Each time I drag and drop *.dsl or *.dict file onto dictzip.exe icon, immediately or through some processes successfully produces a *.dsl.dz or *.dict.dz file on the same location and replace original file. Finally tested in GoldenDict and works well.
But when I use WinRAR or 7-zip to decompress dictzip file which use this method, found *.dsl or *.dict file not in the root-catalog of *.dsl.dz or *.dict.dz file, for example see pic:

I just want a situation: When I double click *.dsl.dz or *.dict.dz file using 7-zip or WinRAR 5.0 final, *.dsl or *.dict file apears immediately in the root-catalog, not to click C Documents and Settings XXX Desktop again and again. Not such at least I think is unnecessary information in my dictzip file.
So is it a bug or my use method isn't right? Please help!

Yep, this is a valid concern. I'll try to fix it in the next version.

See issue #1: https://github.com/Tvangeste/dictzip-win32/issues/1

put ditctzip.exe to c:\windows\system32
open a cmd on your dictionary directory (if you are using a file manager, such as Total commander, it's easy to open a cmd window on the current directory by pressing right arrow followed by 'cmd'),
then type: dictzip yourdict.dsl
:)
