what's the function of [trn] tags?

Postby yuchen » Tue Jul 02, 2013 11:09 am

There is an entry as follow:
Code: Select all
bad
   [m2][c indigo][b]THESAURUS[/b][/c][/m]
[m4][c gray]▪[/c] [b][trn]disappointing[/trn][/b] not as good as you hoped or expected:  [*][ex][lang id=1]Her exam results were disappointing.[/lang][/ex][/*] [*]|[/*]  [*][ex][lang id=1]a disappointing start to the campaign[/lang][/ex][/*][/m]

Does GD index the content between [trn] and [/trn] ? If it does, does this means when I look up for "disappointing", it will also show the "bad" entry ?
It doesn't work this way on my computer. Is there any way to achive this?

Thank you. :D

The trn tags have no special meaning for GoldenDict (at the moment). In Lingvo, they are used for the full-text search, to logically separate search results between translations, examples, etc.

Essentially, trn means - everything inside the tag is a translation of the word. Not comments, not examples.

As for your second question, with the DSL-based dictionaries, there is no way to provide "synonyms" and automatically them look-up.
