About the ad-blocking feature of GoldenDict

Postby darkman » Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:41 pm

Greetings

I've recently started using GoldenDict and it's truly great.
I've got one question:
in the Changelog for GoldenDict 1.0.0 it says
Content not originating from the site the user browses can now be blocked (hides ads).

Well, I tried (in GoldenDict v1.0.1) the following urls in Edit>Dictionaries>Sources>Websites
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/%GDWORD%
http://dictionary.in.gr/?searchText=%GDWORD%
and no ads were blocked.

Why is that?

Do I have to manually enable ad-blocking? How? I can't find such an option in GoldenDict.

Thanks for the quick reply
This option should be enabled by default.

The problem with this option enabled by default is that some sites won't properly function. I've seen this on a few sites.
